SyncEvolution and libsynthesis are open source, so the first step would
be to compile that yourself if you haven't done so yet.
The work on the 0.9 release is almost finished and we are now defining
what the next major release should look like. Subscribe to the mailing
list, that's were we discuss that. Also check the archives for past
discussions.
The
bugzilla.moblin.org bug tracker has several enhancement ideas for
the project. Anything assigned to "syncevolution(a)lists.intel.com" is not
actively being worked on. Perhaps there is something that you might want
to pick up?
