Yes. This page has the details of how it is meant to work; we are not
One aspect there is that username/password are per-peer settings. So
multiple devices can have different credentials. I'm leaning towards
that solution because:
1. It is consistent with having multiple HTTP servers that also
require different credentials.
2. If the user wants different credentials per device, it is
possible. If we only had one username/password per server, it
wouldn't be possible. The user can decide to use the same
credentials for all his devices.
The drawback is some duplication of settings in the later case (user
wants identical settings for all peers).
Change tracking seems also worked on this assumption...
