Dear list members,
(Please apologize if this is a double post, I'm having a hard time getting my messages
to the list.)
I am new to Syncevolution and I'm having trouble getting my calendar
synced.
I tried to follow Suyog's good tutorial there :

My config (and phone) is exactly the same! (Ubuntu 10.04).
But I can't sync my calendar events: there's just no checkbox for them.
If I choose "Repair..." I do see check boxes (appointments /
appointments and tasks) but they are both greyed out.
This is for direct sync, but even stranger, all the network sync option
also miss a checkbox for appointments.
Contacts and notes, however, do sync well, but I really need to get my
calendar events synced!

Which version of Evolution are you using? Which version of
SyncEvolution?
What do "syncevolution --daemon=no --version" and "syncevolution
--daemon=no" on the command line say?

All I can tell is that y old Palm Pilot synced well with this calendar.

ends up using the Google calendar as "default" instead:

use the GTK UI to configure syncing with your phone.
Here's the command line invocation which should do the trick:
syncevolution --configure backend=evolution-calendar \
database=Personnel \
@default calendar

Thank you for your detailed explanations.
In order to get your trick working, I had to completely erase my
previous (wrong) config. Then, I could see the check boxes that were
missing before. So I was full of hope.
However, there's something strange here. "appointments and tasks" is
checked. If I try to change anything (e.g. just uncheck it) I get a
message that says "A username is required for this service". Yet, it's
direct sync!
So I go for the default settings, but the sync ends with an "error
20023". I then try a slow sync, but same result.
But, when I opened my phone calendar, all my appointments were there!
So I kept on trying. The next sync gave me "error 412", but the slow
sync went OK.
And on the next attempt, even the normal sync was fine (except that
there was no comment below the "appointments and tasks" title in the
sync summary).
So, I'd say that's 99% success. My config is fully usable now. Very
nice.

I can confirm that bug. It's a regression caused by the fix for BMC
#23106. I reopened that bug.
So I go for the default settings, but the sync ends with an

Some, but probably not all. 20023 means "incomplete sync". It happens
when some sources are okay and some were only synced partially.
So I kept on trying. The next sync gave me "error 412", but

I have some ideas for generating statistics differently. Then it'll also
be easier to find out which items transferred okay and which didn't.
