Having just gotten activesyncd to work, I can get it to list my personal
contact groups, but is it possible to access the Exchange global address
list?

If it doesn't show up already, then probably not without further changes
in activesyncd. I don't know how the global address list is exposed via
ActiveSync. I suspect that it is a special case because the list can be
quite large and thus unsuitable for syncing with smaller mobile devices.
