This shows that SyncEvolution was compiled without the D-Bus server.

For now, I recommend using the packages from syncevolution.org (as I
do), and I am thinking about setting the dependencies to forcing
syncevolution-evolution instead of syncevolution.
I think this is the right solution.
But of course it would
be nice if syncevolution worked out of the box on Ubuntu. Has anybody
experienced similar issues? Is it possible to fix that package?
I don't know how amenable Ubuntu is to accepting new upstream releases
into a Long Term Service release like Lucid. Perhaps it could go into
Lucid Updates or Backports?
Of course, this depends on David Bremner packaging it for Debian first,
because IMHO Ubuntu does not have a dedicated packager for
SyncEvolution.
