Thanks a lot Tino, I think you've identified the cause of my issue.
I just tried installing SyncEvolution 1.0.99.7 from the unstable deb repo. I
still have the problem.
I looked at the dates, and the patch was committed 8 Sept and 1.0.99.7 released
1 Oct. Do I need to build from source to get a version that's new enough to
release the fix you linked to?
Maybe it's sufficent to adopt the changes in the XML files in this
commit to your Syncevolution installation, without the need to
recompile. If I got this right, the single change in
src/backends/file/FileSyncSource.h only matters if you sync
syncevolution with another syncevolution.
