Quite. The earlier log (myphone-2010-06-07-18-45) in the last zip was
deleted after the second run. I noticed this happened before, so I
zipped up the first log after that run completed to save it.
That's strange and looks like a bug.
But come to think of it, I think syncevolution could do with some
better reporting about what it did. As in, just a couple of lines
which actually tell you what happened and why.
"What" as in "doing slow sync" will be in 1.0 final also for direct
sync. It was missing in beta 3 because the Synthesis engine didn't
report these kind of events yet.
"Why" is harder. There are so many reasons for it that presenting them
to the user would make little sense (because he cannot understand them)
and would be a lot of work. That's really something that a developer
needs to figure out based on the logs.
The Synthesis log isn't
that nice since it puts something along the lines "did slow sync
because of an anchor mismatch or maybe a config option or two" in the
log and leaves it to the user to find what the reason was. Even at
loglevel = 0, the html logfile is a little too verbose for someone
like me who is technically oriented but knows next to nothing about
syncing, syncevolution, synthesis or syncml...
It's simply not meant to be read by a user.

It's possible to do this on the command line, right?
Yes. Just add the name of source, like this:
syncevolution myphone addressbook
syncevolution myphone calendar+todo
syncevolution myphone memo
This selects the given source for that run. No need to edit the
