BSOD triggered in Windows 10 guest
by Kaho Ng
Hi All,
I have been trying to passthrough a vGPU to a Windows 10 x64 (NT
14393) guest now with a recent 4.10.10-1-ARCH kernel. However I
encounter occational BSOD if I connect to the guest via VNC. TightVNC
is installed on the guest to provide remote access.
One thing I noticed is that if entries like
"[drm:sanitize_fence_mmio_access.isra.13.part.14 [i915]] *ERROR*
gvt: vgpu1: total fence num 4 access fence num 5" appears in the
kernel log, the guest crashes with BSOD at the same time.
The kernel crashed with BSOD at Apr 14 19:56:06, and eventually reset
after Windows 10 finished creating minidump of the NT kernel.
The message appeared in BSOD is like this (If i turn on QXL video
adapter for the guest): https://ptpb.pw/8I4y
CPU: i7 6700k
Intel GPU: HD530
Chipset: Z170
The kernel log of the host: https://ptpb.pw/iCp3
The log of QEMU: https://ptpb.pw/UO8q
The version of Intel GPU driver used by the guest: 154516.4627
QEMU version: 2.8.0

stucked Windows 10 guest
by Kaho Ng
Hi,
I have been trying to passthrough a vGPU to a Windows 10 x64 (NT 14393) guest
created by the following command:
echo c61986bc-af75-4ccd-bc58-06494857622e >
/sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:00:02.0/mdev_supported_types/i915-GVTg_V5_1/create
However after the virtual machine was powered on, it stucked, and
loads of errors appeared in
kernel log.
The host kernel version:
Linux ng-kaho-desktop 4.10.8-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Mar 31 16:50:19
CEST 2017 x86_64 GNU/Linux
The kernel log of the host: https://ptpb.pw/J3kR
The version of Intel GPU driver used by the guest: 154516.4627
QEMU version: 2.8.0
