Solved,
It turns out that the kernel-ib-devel package wasn't installed by default. Once that
was in place I was able to compile the client, install it, and mount the lustre
mountpoints.

I'm not sure how that could be... I compiled it on the same node that I then tried to
install it on.

Looks like you've got an OFED version mismatch from what you built with
and what is installed on your nodes.
