Dear All,
I made progress with "lester" tool . Interestingly lester lists files from the
OST's where "lfs find -O XYZOST_UUID /path" fails to return any output.
I have also confirmed that the files listed by lester are actually residing on XYZOST_UUID
by getting the stripe information.
This tells me something went wrong and hence lfs is not able to return any output for that
specific OST. I seek any help to get this fixed.
As far as draining/purging files from this particular OST, I plan to use the list
generated by "lester" as input to the lfs_migrate script and move the files.
Hope this is okay and there are no other catches. Please let me know otherwise.
Thank you all!
Amit

I was able to get lester to work on RHEL5.5 with the latest e2fsprogs from Intel/Whamcloud
downloads(http://downloads.whamcloud.com/public/e2fsprogs/)
Thank you David & Mohr for your replies.
Regards,
Amit

Unless something has changed recently, you usually need to download the latest e2fsprogs
from the lustre download site.

Hi David,
Thank you for your response. I am trying to build this on a RHEL 5.5 and am not able to.
It requires updated automake, autoconf etc., hence I even tried to
build it on RHEL 6.4 and it fails requiring (ext2fs >= 1.42.7 com_err >= 1.42.7)
Whereas the e2fsprogs on RHEL6.4 is 1.41.12.
This should be very simple, Am I missing something here?
Thank you,
Amit

Yes, 'lester -A lsost -a $OSTNUM -o $OUTFILE $MDTBLOCKDEV' should do the trick.
The sheer amount of time it took to do this in the past is one of the prime motivations
for lester.
