Could you please be more specific which version you are using that had a problem? The
2.8.5x builds are development builds and shouldn't really be used for anything except
testing. That said, if there is a compatibility problem then this needs to be fixed
before the 2.9.0 release.
There should definitely be compatibility between 2.8.0 and 2.9.0 clients and servers
(excluding new features), so something is definitely wrong.
